But First, Breakfast!.

Most of us really don't have the time or energy to actually make breakfast in the mornings. Work is demanding, the roads are congested with traffic jams and waking up in the morning is a general chore in itself. So, on most, if not all occasions, making breakfast in the wee hours or the day can be off-putting.

More and more people choose to skip the quick sandwich/glass of milk routine in the mornings and delve straight into the day. While this might sound convenient, it actually has some pretty bad repercussions.

What's the Point?

I skipped on breakfast for years at a time because I heard somewhere that doing so helps with weight loss. Which is bullshit. All I lost was whatever health I had remaining, and my body fat was replaced with issues like IBS, and GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease). Not good.

Because I chose to ignore something like a simple meal in the mornings, I now have no other choice but to heavily monitor my daily meals. I can't skip a single one, otherwise, I'll get a gastritis attack. That shizz feels like a heart attack. No thank you. So if you're like me and can be a little neglectful of your body and its simple requirements, read on to save yourself.

But I'm Busy!

Yeah, and it sucks to have to get to work in the kitchen right after you're up. This is going to sound a bit redundant, but all it takes is a little discipline.

Sheet-pan meal-prep recipes are a great way to save time and plan ahead. You can simply pan-roast a bunch of vegetables in the oven and refrigerate them for at least 3-4 days. Voila! Breakfast is sorted. It takes a tiny bit of elbow grease, but it's the easiest way out.

Do I Need to Eat a Proper English Fry-Up Daily?

No, that's actually really bad for you. All those carbs/proteins daily will eventually bring you face to face with cholesterol. Managing your body is complex work but if you get used to a few easy hacks here and there, you're all set. A lot of sources claim that breakfast needs to be protein and carbohydrate-rich, but really all you need is a light and simple meal to get you through to lunch.

  • Foods you CAN eat in the morning are:
  • String hoppers
  • A big glass of Kola Kandha
  • A quick ham and cheese sandwich
  • Vegetables of your choice
  • Cereal
  • Or even a mango+banana smoothie

What's important to remember is that you need to give your empty stomach something to kickstart it to work for the rest of the day. Prolonging your bada from gearing up leads to a lot of unnecessary complications and before long, you'll find yourself holding back farts and burps for the rest of the day. Not good.

If you really can't be bothered with cooking ahead, or morning kitchen time- then you can opt for the breakfast choices on PickMe Food [just check the menu at the bottom of the home screen on the PickM app]. We've teamed up with PickMe to bring y'all a whole list of restaurants and whatnot, so check out the breakfast options in the mornings.

Conclusion

So in all seriousness, take about 10-15 minutes off your day to chomp down on a quick meal. It'll probably save your life in the long run and in time, grant you some peace of mind as well.
