Resplendent was once synonymous with Sri Lanka as a destination to travel to. However, with the recent terrorist attacks, tourism in Sri Lanka has plummeted. According to Sanath Ukwatte, the president of the Hotels Association of Sri Lanka, hotels that once had 70% occupancy are now 10% full at most. “Everything is running at the moment, but without guests,” he said. Hotels across the Island are revising their rates.
