Where To Eat This Weekend (May 24th).

Looks like the rains are here. Perfect weather to mossy up to your most favourite people (or person) and indulge in some good food? These are our recommendations for this weekend on places to eat.

Nom Nom Asia

Right around the bend from our office is Nom Nom Asia with a comprehensive menu of many things Asian. If you like variety, the menu here is expansive – out of which we opted for the Vegetable Fried Rice, Fried Tofu in Mushroom and the Lime and Honey Chicken. Our meal was every bit satisfying and filling. Cushioned on a plate a combination of sliced carrots, bell pepper, tomatoes, cauliflower and mushroom, we recommend their Fried Tofu in Mushroom which is easily enough for two. A little gem, Nom Nom Asia is, you should experience it for yourselves.

Red Panda

Next stop, the Red Panda. If you are looking for Chinese fare, here it is. Right now eating will prove to be an obstacle as construction is underway but there are options for takeout and delivery. Comfort food on a cold rainy day. The aroma from the food will have you drooling well before you get to the food. We ordered Chilli Chicken with Cashew Nuts, a portion of Hot Butter Cuttlefish and Seafood Fried Rice and were well pleased with our food.

Wayside Thai Cafe

Packed with flavour and huge portions, next on is the Wayside Thai Cafe located down at Kohuwela. We decided to go with the Stir Fried Prawn & Calamari with Thai Basil and Fried egg and the Chicken Pad Thai. Served warm with a giant portion of fluffy white rice, it was lovely. The stir-fry turned out to be a deliciously saucy, incredibly spicy portion of prawn and calamari. Its gravy wasn't thick, but that's the only thing that we found fault with. You will not be disappointed here.

The Circle Colombo

A relatively new resto + bar down Marine Drive, The Circle Colombo offers some decent cocktails and food for a fair price. If you're in for a boozy treat this weekend along with a superb plate of Devilled Chicken on the side, we suggest going this.

The Sugar Shack

We are wrapping up our weekend of indulgence with a dessert shop. A name you are already familiar with as it has existed for quite the time now as a home baker. Located down Colombo 5, the place has quite the feast for those who need something to appease the sweet tooth. You will find cupcakes, types of cakes, and homemade soft drinks. So we shall draw this blog to a close by recommending the Peach and Cream cupcake.

Well, that's a wrap from us. Let us know your recommendations too and have yourself a great weekend.
