Delivery Malli.

Delivery Malli makes life easier for everyone who's applying for a passport, or renewing their old ones, as they deliver right to your doorstep for just Rs. 500, be you in Piliyandala or Colpetty. They're situated right within the passport office, so you know they're legit and reliable, and not just some dodgy FB page.

The Service

A passport applied for under normal service takes 10 working days to process, and the Immigration Department posts them out afterwards; which means that you have to factor in snail mail. We've had plenty of bad experiences with mail, including one of our passports ending up somewhere else in a different lane once (how do they even do that?) and my mom having to go door-to-door asking around the neighbourhood if they'd received a package which wasn't theirs (and why didn't they return it if so?!), so I was a bit hesitant to allow the passport office to just post it off, and told them I'll come over and pick it up instead.

And then I remembered a mail from Indi, which told us to check out Delivery Malli when possible, so booyah, reliable passport delivery services!

DM delivers passports on the same day it's released by the Immigration Department, so you get it in hand within ten working days itself. How? They simply pick them up before it's posted out.

Their coverage, according to their website, extends to Colombo, Wattala, Athurugiriya, Homagama, Boralasgamuwa, Piliyandala, Dehiwela, Panadura, and a few more towns.

The Process

You can contact them via Facebook, or call them on 077 4327777 or 077 1151137.

Better yet, just stop by their stall on the first floor of the passport office. Hand over the receipt (which you get after paying for your passport) to them, and they'll give you a form to fill out. Fill it out, pay 500 bucks, and you're done. You needn't worry about how long your passport will take because they'll keep you updated constantly — like if there's a delay from the passport office in releasing your travel document and so on. If there are no delays with your document from the government side, it's ten working days, like we mentioned earlier on.

One day passports are delivered on the same day as well.

Conclusion

Service is super, staff are friendly, and best of all, they're also efficient. Five stars.
