Beyond Human Efforts (BHE) is a charitable not for profit, established in December 2013 with the aim of providing equal opportunities for underprivileged sections of society. This includes, but is not limited to widows and prisoners.
The organization was co-founded by two 20-year olds, Jazeel Azhar and Zaid Saheek, who have a passion for rendering their services to those in need. The co-founders aim was to equip youngsters to work towards bettering society. The organization functions under the tag-line ‘towards a better community’.
BHESL has been involved in a variety of projects namely empowerment, WELLfare, Koslanda Project, Beyond Bars, feed a family, rations for Ramadan, school with a smile, sharing the Joy of Eid, Vesak Dansal, visits to orphanages etc.
At present, the charity's only focus is WELLfare which provides access to clean water. They do this by installing tube wells with overhead storage tanks, in areas where clean water facility is low and not accessible. To date, BHESL has installed 5 tube wells. Wells number 6 & 7 are currently in progress at Horowpathana and the Puttalam Hospital. WELLfare targets rural communities.
