Dilly’s Juice Bar.

Dilly's Juice Bar is stationed just a bit further down from the Nugeoda junction, on Stanley Tilakaratne Mawatha. They may not have an extensive list of juices like Roots does, but almost everything they have is priced under Rs. 120. You can of course drop by and enjoy a drink if you are in the area, but we decided to order up through PickMe Food.

Drinks and Desserts

First off, we have the Watermelon Juice that came in at Rs 100. The watermelon taste here was rich with the thick texture produced by the fleshy watermelon bits and the colour of the drink was pleasing light red. Although we felt adding sugar was not necessarily needed with this particular fruit, and we are glad that they’ve gone easy on that. You’ll easily be able to quench your thirst on a hot day with this one.

The Mandarin Juice was Rs.80. The tangy punch of citrus was very apparent in this one. It had a good amount of citrus smell, all the while not having any pulp helped too. With just the right amount of sugar which does not overpower the mandarin taste, and not watered down, all of it added up to a revitalizing and an enjoyable drink.

We also got a Faluda (Rs. 120) and wasn’t quite impressed by it. For starters, the rose essence hits you hard and tbh, it’s a bit overwhelming. But as you keep sipping, it gives away a pleasing swirl of milk taste with just enough sugar – making for a surprisingly interesting drink. We would have liked to see a bit more of the other elements such as kasa kasa, ice cream and a bit more jelly here. The drink wasn’t bad per se, but it wasn't anything to rave about.

If you are in the mood to munch on something, they have a Fruit Salad for Rs. 120. This one was a good mix of chopped banana, pineapple and papaya topped with a bit of vanilla ice cream and a few sprinkles of colourful jelly bits. The fruits tasted good and seemed fresh while the sugar amount was just right.

Conclusion

While they probably won’t win awards for the best juices, it wasn’t necessarily disappointing either. We are sure you can easily enjoy a decent cup of juice to cool down yourself for a good price with Dilly’s Juice Bar.
