Shirohana (Online Store).

Flowers speak a universal language. In fact, they speak better than words, because there are some instances in life where you can't quite find the right words to express your feelings.

This is where Shirohana steps in. For over four decades, Shirohana has been a go-to place for flowers, irrespective of the occasion. Currently, they have six branches in and around Colombo, and their delivery service covers a wide area — from Wattala to Panadura.

We've visited a couple of their branches in the past, and we liked our experience every time. So this time around, we thought of trying out the online store – the shirohanaflowers.com.

The Collection

Even browsing through the shelves of Shirohana online store brings me so much joy. Their collection of vibrant flowers are such a pleasing sight to the eye.

They offer flower bunches, gifts, flower arrangements and fresh produce hampers. The pricing of the flower bunches starts at Rs. 700, and goes up to Rs. 9000, while the flower arrangements vary from Rs. 3500 to Rs. 23000.

From roses, lilies, and chrysanthemums to yarrows, gladiolus and wildflowers, Shirohana has a massive collection. The flowers are brought down straight from their farms in Nuwara Eliya where they're all grown in well-maintained greenhouses. Therefore, what you get here is of high quality, absolutely fresh and lasts long.

Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, wedding, welcoming a baby, saying farewell to a loved one, or just because, Shirohana always has a thoughtfully curated bouquet of colourful flowers that one can get. They're carefully hand-picked, mixed and matched in the most creative way, and ensure to fit the mood.

The gifts section includes some nice gift boxes assorted with wellness and spa products, cookies as well as delicious cakes from Fig & Owl.

The Ordering Process

The interface is quite user-friendly and neat, so you can find what you're looking for without any hassle.

This gorgeous bouquet of chrysanthemums, called the Blooming Marvelous (Rs. 1900) caught my eye so instantly, for obvious reasons. Purple is my favourite colour, and this one is a wonderful ensemble of different shades of purple and foliage to match with them.

You can add what you want to the cart, and proceed to checkout, with a click of a button.

Here you can add the billing and shipping details. They do free delivery to certain locations, and the others are subjected to a delivery fee. In my case, it was Rs. 500 (to Maharagama).

Shirohana accepts both cash on delivery and card payments via PayHere, all for your convenience. The latter option includes a wide selection of payment methods, including Visa, Master, American Express, FriMi, eZcash, mCash and more.

Once the payment is sorted, it will show you a summary of your order. This includes an order number, date of order, total amount, its breakdown and the selected payment method, along with the delivery date. You will also receive an email with the above details.

And voilà! This beauty appeared at my doorstep the very next day! I loved that super sweet smell of fresh damp flowers that hit my face as I embraced it. Such a great feeling, it is!

Service

It's not just pretty, fresh flowers that Shirohana shines at — they offer some good service alongside. On the date of the delivery, they gave me a call and asked for a convenient time for the delivery, and were kind enough to send me this beautiful message along with it. And as promised, they delivered it on time.

Conclusion

Flowers have this amazing power to boost up someone's mood and make it a day like no other. I know that because this radiant bouquet by Shirohana certainly did it for me. With their online store, Shirohana has blended their passion to set moods through flowers, with modern-day technology, which makes them the best flower delivery in Colombo. It's a very smooth process, quite convenient, and the guarantees to impress!
