The Hilton Colombo.

Hilton’s multi cuisine restaurant- Graze Kitchen is one of the highly sought out restaurants for buffets as it boasts more than 100 dishes across various cuisines from all over the world, served at different stations.

The restaurant offers an onslaught of deliciousness from morning to night:

Lunch: Tuesday to Friday from 12.00pm to 2.3-pm – Rs 4,388 nett per person

Weekends from 12.00pm to 2.30pm –  Rs 4,888 nett per person

Covid-19 prevention measures

Graze Kitchen takes superb care in making sure that all their patrons follow the Covid preventive measure, all patrons should wear masks while serving and a box of disposable gloves are kept at every station that also should be worn when serving.

Since it was the Sunday dinner we attended, the restaurant was operating at 100% occupancy with tables set about 2 feet apart from one another.

Ambience

The Graze Kitchen is a lavish space featuring an alfresco that overlooks the pond and the fountain which was a beautiful sight with plenty lights twinkling, regardless of this being a buffet, the intimate setting makes it an apt place for a low key date too.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating as well as curtained private cabins that can comfortably seat a small group.

The variety offered was quite minimal, some cold cuts that was mainly pork, a few tossed cold salads and a dedicated diy salad counter. With saying that, whatever was presented, tasted amazing, especially the turkey and pineapple salad. We aslo went a little crazy with the diy salad, but unfortunately it didn’t make the cut since we gobbled it all up before we realized we never took a photo of it *face palm

Mains

The diverse cuisine included Japanese, Italian which featured an active pasta station, Indian, Western, Asian and Sri Lankan.

We started off the mains from the Western stations and were super impressed with the unrivalled variety boasting favorites such as the fritto misto- this was just deep fried goodness- the seafood was cooked to perfection and retained the perfect crunch despite it being cooked for a while.

They also served a juicy looking roast lamb shoulder and roast pork with crackling- we went for the lamb with the jus as it looked delectable. It was the best lamb we’ve had in a while- and the jus uplifted the whole dish.

Moving on to the Asian section, we opted for the usual fried rice and wok tossed noodle with the Asian grills- the squid and the chicken was tender to the bite but lacked seasoning but the naan and the rich curries served at the Indian section more than made up for it. The curries were as authentic as it can get, luscious and aromatic.

If you’re a fan of Sri Lankan short eats, well you’ll leave a happy person indeed since unlike other places, these guys had mini mutton rolls, fish patties and the staple fish cutlets.

The Japanese fare looked vibrant and inviting. The assortment of sushi was well executed and fresh to the bite.

Dessert

Even though we were stuffed, we just couldn’t get our eyes pass the rows and rows of the dessert on display. From soft cloud like pavlovas to watalappam, the choices for deserts seemed never ending. My sweet tooth loved every bit of it, especially the drak chocolate mousse, this was so smooth and rich. It was the perfect ending to the extravagant meal we had.

CONCLUSION

As far as buffets go, this definitely sits on the top, its worth the price, you get what you pay for, in terms of variety and quality. Most of the dishes were executed well and there were plenty of classic dishes that impressed us. It generally gets crowded on a weekend, which can affect service a little.

CHRISTMAS BUFFET

Graze kitchen is hosting a Christmas buffet serving a magnificent array of delectable international dishes, a variety of salads and the most succulent serving of traditional roasts, alongside little slices of sweet goodness to complete the festive table.
