The Kingsbury.

Even on a Wednesday evening, The Kingsbury was busy with happy people sitting at coffee shops, attending weddings, and of course, excited for the dinner buffet at the Harbour Court.

Covid19 prevention measures

In terms of precautions taken to limit the spread of Covid19, all customers and staff members were compelled to wear their masks at all times other than when they were indulging their meals. There were a few instances where customers got up from their seats for second servings but had forgotten to wear their masks, the staff at The Kingsbury were kind enough to remind them to put their masks on.

Disposable glove boxes were located in common areas for people to use when serving food along with a note that encouraged all customers to use them.

The Ambience

The air was filled with the season’s tidings & cheer. Beautiful decorations such as Christmas trees, a cart full of Christmas goodies and many more. The music that played at the harbour court was also lovely and perfect for dining. The staff made us feel warm and welcomed and helped us to get into our seats.

The Beverages

As we settled into our seats, the waiter offered us a menu that included Christmas-themed alcoholic beverages. We decided to go ahead with the chocolate eggnog drink & the North to Southpole drink. The eggnog was a personal favourite and would rate it a solid 8/10. Whereas the North to Southpole drink was strong with a hint of a fruity flavour.

The Appetizers

As standard, there were both non-veg and veg soups to choose from. The non-veg soup was a cream of broccoli and the veg soup was a seafood fusion soup. They tasted delicious especially when dipped into the different types of freshly buttered bread rolls and dinner buns.

There was a range of freshly chopped vegetables such as onions, carrots, cabbage, olives, slices of meat many more to help you create your own appetizers. We had a mix of vegetables with crab and made our own salad, it was absolutely delicious.

The sushi bar had a wide variety of sushi to choose from. It was every sushi lovers dream. So we decided to try one of each variety, dipped it in soy sauce and got lost in its flavour.

There were was a section filled with Spanish tapas which are festive and delicious appetizers and snacks. The traditional tapas included mixed vegetables, chicken and other types of meat.

The Mains

When it came to selecting the mains we had way too many options to choose from. The cuisines ranged from Sri Lankan to, Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Mongolian, Indian, Spanish and many more!

Each cuisine had its own authentic type of rice and noodles for you to try. There was a variety of sweet and sour and even savoury dishes to add to your plate.

Everything we tasted was rich in flavour and delicious, we tried so many different dishes and none of them disappointed us.

The Desserts

If you are the kind of person who will come all the way to a buffet and still snoop around the ice cream section, you will not be disappointed! There were 8 exciting flavours to choose from cookie dough ice cream to Pol Pani ice cream and sauces and nuts to top it off.

I chose the cookie dough ice cream, topped it off with some chocolate sauce and peanuts and it was my very own chocolate delight.

There were also different types of puddings such as bread pudding and date pudding, brownie cakes, different flavours of flan, mousse, cheesecake and a variety of fresh fruit to choose from.

Conclusion

The Kingsbury dinner buffet was probably one of the finest buffets I have been to in terms of the variety and unique taste in each dish we indulged in. If you find yourself dropping by The Kingsbury buffet this Christmas season, you will not be disappointed.
