Cinnamon Grand Colombo.

The new Plates restaurant at Cinnamon Grand has been the talk of the town as of recent. And the food is surely amazing just as it looks. Ideal for this joyous season. One of the best buffets, hands down. With an amazing spread of starters, mains and desserts

Covid Guidelines

While maintaining social distance, wearing the mask is a must while serving, and also you will have to wear a glove which they provide.

Ambience

A very cozy low-lit atmosphere. Which definitely invites you to stay and dine peacefully. Nothing sophisticated but very minimal and calming. The décor on the walls adds an outdoor-indoor feel. An amazing interior feels where you can enjoy your food, but also the space.

They have an extended area added to the new look of the restaurant as well. So, more seating Yay!

Food
Starters

Beginning with a variety of cheese and crackers and moving into the Sushi and Sashimi display with a great variety of veg and non-veg options.

We also tried the Mushroom Tartar, crab slaw, pasta and seafood salad, egg salad, spicy chicken salad, pears and quail egg, and the best being fish and fennel salad. Worthy of that second round!

Cold cuts are a must-try, we tried the chicken ham, pork salami, pork pepperoni, paprika chicken along with some amazing cocktail sauce which was super delicious.

The sweet corn chicken and egg drop soup was really nice with a slice of bread that was amazingly soft do not skip on that.

Mains

After having it all we felt pretty full, yet wouldn’t miss out on the mains, which looked and smelled great. With an extensive variety of cuisines from Sri Lankan, Indian to Italian what a spread it was!

Starting off with the Chicken Ballentine and moving on to the roast loin of pork, which went really well with the chicken Jus, Roast beef Roulade, and marinated crab and prawns.

Out of all the dishes we tried the chicken Biriyani along with the mouthwatering pork curry and the Chicken Pizza Stood out. Depending on your cravings you can surely get them satisfied. The plain crispy hopper with freshly made lunu miris and seeni sambol was a great hit. Don’t forget to try it out!

If you’re craving for a bit of Thai wok fried vegetable noodles if the dish you’re looking for, try it along with either the garlic mushroom prawn or spicy tomato chicken to level it Up.

Desserts

For desserts we dipped marshmallows into the chocolate fountain, letting the inner child lash out a bit. We also tried a variety of desserts: chocolate mousse dome, Pavlova which was really soft. It melts in your mouth without a doubt even the Blueberry cake was the same.  Our sweet tooth cravings didn’t end there, we tried the berry mousse, chocolate mousse, lemon tart, Oreo cheesecake One amazing range of desserts.

Conclusion

All in all, what an amazing time we had great food and great service! You can drop by for the lunch buffet from 12pm to 3pm and for the dinner buffet from 7pm to 11pm. The price of the dinner buffet will be Rs. 4200 per head. Totally worth that price.

Christmas Buffet

The Christmas buffet will be the main highlight for this month.  Consisting an amazing range of seafood including the lobster and also the roasted bird spread. Having a larger variety of cheese display, also including a live station, Italian station, South Asian, Chinese and Mexican. The Christmas dessert spread is to die for! Consists of chocolate display, Candy, Macaroons and a hot dessert corner with live action.

All of this goodness comes at Rs.8500 per head. And also, the NYE buffet prices at Rs.9000 including a 3-piece band.
