New shopping experience at the Keells on Lauries Road.

Keells is reinventing your shopping experience in the best way possible. Because of the pandemic, shoppers around the island were forced to switch to more digitalised forms of shopping for essentials. Even though people are able to travel more freely while the pandemic is underway, Keells is making sure to come up with innovative ways of shopping.

1. Scan & Go units

As soon as you enter the supermarket, on the left side, you will see a counter that contains ‘scan & go’ units for you to personalise your shopping experience.

First, you have to enter your Nexus number on the screen. Then, enter the OTP you receive to your nexus registered mobile number and lastly, pick up the scanner that says ‘Please take me’.

Once you have picked up your scanner, look for the products you’re looking to purchase and press the button in the middle to scan the barcode for the product and add it to your cart.

To take the product off your cart, rescan the barcode and select ‘remove’ item.

Once you’re done shopping and scanning the items you need, go to the cashier section and look for the self-service kiosks where you can check out on .

2. The Chef’s kitchen

This is where all the magic happens. The chef’s station is clean and fully stocked with delicious savoury delights. All you have to do is ask a Keells’ staff member for assistance and they will help you with your order.

3. Range of flowers

As soon as you enter the supermarket, you are refreshed by the layout of beautiful fresh flower bouquets.

4. Keells Kafe

Keells now has their own ‘kafe’ serving reasonably priced coffee, milkshakes, waffles and many more yummy delights.

5. A mural celebrating the locality

At the far right corner, there is a beautiful mural that represents small landmarks surrounding Bambalapitiya. Let the picture do the talking.

6. Make your Own Pizza counter

You can also make your own pizza at the ‘Make your own Pizza’ station. Just choose your toppings & vegetables and the Keells chefs will be happy to put together your dream pizza.

This is the first time Sri Lanka has been introduced to such a unique shopping experience. If you haven’t already, make sure to drop by some time.
