They also source other types of sea food that are a delicacy in Sri Lanka, Prawns, Tiger Prawns, Lobster, Shoe Lobster, Mullet, Barramundi, Tuna, The Indian Anchovy, Seer Fish, Cuttle Fish, Sail Fish just to name a few.

If you have any queries regarding the availability of the infamous Lagoon Crab, please feel free to contact them on the number given below and they will try their best to accommodate your requirements. Or if you are not living in the Western or Southern provinces of Sri Lanka, Live Lagoon Crabs from Batticaloa will try their best to deliver your preferred sea food to wherever you are located in Sri Lanka, that makes them ever so special compared to other Sea Food delivery companies.

Live Lagoon Crabs from Batticaloa also cooks and prepares any type of Sea Food you prefer to your specification. If you prefer spicy, extra spicy, devilled, peppered they would do it to your specification and taste. We had the opportunity of sampling the awesome Lagoon crab and since we are not ‘shellfish’ here is what we have to share with you. Let’s get ‘cracking’!

1. Devilled Lagoon Crab

Simply put, it tasted awesomely delicious is how best we can describe the Devilled Lagoon Crab. It was freshly prepared with much care, and as we took the cover off the packaging, there was a crab packed aroma that was so appetizing that made us so impatient to taste it. The quality of the crab was par excellence. It tasted so fresh and it is amongst the finest that we have had the privilege of tasting. It was succulent and cooked just right, the crab meat was fresh, firm and came off the shell effortlessly, the main reason for that was that the crab shells were slightly cracked to make it easier to take the crab meat out of the shell. That was quite impressive and very thoughtful. Because normally eating crab is a marathon event! We loved the generous infusion of Murunga leaves that made the Lagoon crab curry so tasty. It wasn’t too spicy and the gravy was thick, red and nice. We enjoyed every morsel of it!

2. Lagoon Crab Curry

Really delicious! it was more of a white curry so it wasn’t that spicy. It has so much of flavor in it we used the roast paan to mop off all the gravy thereby not wasting a morsel of crab curry. The infusion of murunga leaves to the crab curry was once again the highlight. Typically crab curry is eaten with roast paan a thickly crusted bread that you can use to mop up all the rich, spice infused delicious gravy. We recommend you get the Lagoon crab cooked by Live Lagoon Crabs Batticaloa to have a finger licking experience that you will not regret!

Conclusion

We loved both the Devilled Lagoon Crab and the Lagoon Crab curry dishes. And even though eating crabs can be a messy marathon please don’t let it deprive you of the experience.
