Mr.Burger is a small burger joint in Bambalapitiya that whips up not-so-small Burgers. With a wide range of burgers as well as shawarmas, submarines and beverages, it attracts quite the crowd. So, we dropped by to give their signature monster burgers a shot.
Ambience
Mr. Burger is quite a small space but it avoids the feeling of being cramped. There’s that signature worn-brick wallpaper that provides a charming backdrop to take all your mandatory food pics along with some cute frames decorating the walls and upbeat music to vibe to. You either sit down for a quick-bite or pack it up for takeaway.
Monster Beef Burger
This is definitely one for the burger maniacs, with a whole lot of yum squeezed within the fresh sesame buns.
There were juicy beef patties with a crispy beef bacon slice, fresh lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Hidden in the depths of this giant burger was an omelette which came as a more than welcome surprise. Finished with generous amounts of cheese, it was one delicious party.

Cheesy Meaty Fries
French Fries, chicken and cheese. Which part of this combination doesn’t sound tempting? Well, throw in fresh onions, capsicum and whole lotta tomato sauce and it’s a feast.
With the fries still crispy and the molten cheese still hot, this dish was a definite win.

About them
We had a little chat with the staff there, who gave us some insight into the backstory of this burger joint. Established from ground up in 2017, this restaurant is the brainchild of Mr.Ikram Salam. What started as one restaurant in Bambalapitiya has now expanded to include another in Rajagiriya as well as a food truck in Mount Lavinia. Their busiest days are understandably the weekends and they also explained how their fastest moving items on the menu are the cheesy meaty fries that we tried, along with the Cordon Bleu burger.
