5 Benefits of using Bio Oil.

By Shanali Fernando

Gone are the days you have to wake up with oil slick hair and go to sleep with an oil slathered face, this underrated ‘super food’ in the world of skincare is your one-stop shop for all your skincare needs. Which includes reducing stretch marks, improving the appearance of scars, fighting the signs of ageing, smoothing uneven skin tone, And a new way to treat dry skin. Packed with a mix of skin-boosting vitamins it will also nourish your skin while doing all of the above.

Bio-Oil is a multi-purpose skincare oil. It contains a combination of vitamins and plant extracts, including lavender, rosemary, chamomile, and vitamins A and E. The Bio-oil dry skin gel has a unique jelly-like texture packed full of moisturizing ingredients to quench the driest skin.

This ‘miracle portion’ contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil which reduces the thickness of the Bio-Oil Skincare Oil formulation, making it readily absorbed making it suitable for face and body, and promoting healthy, radiant skin for all types.

By swapping most of the inactive water content found in most products in the market – for oil, DSG is delivered in a breakthrough new gel format making it an ultra-lightweight and fast-absorbing moisturizer. Needless to say because of its jelly texture a little goes a long way.

Let’s look into a few uses and benefits of Bio-oil.

1. Use bio-oil to Fade scars

In an image-conscious society that places a large importance on how we look, a scar can lower your self-esteem and confidence. It’s the healing process of an injury to the skin. Scars heal differently from person to person depending on factors like skin type, scar location, type of injury, age of the person, and even nutritional status. While there are expensive ways to treat a scar applying bio-oil is the easiest and most cost-effective method. It contains VIT A and E that has skin renewing properties and will promote the formation of new collagen that will reduce the appearance of a scar, and will condition and soothe your skin with the rosemary oil.

2. Use bio-oil to reduce stretch marks

Pregnancy stretch marks can appear anywhere on the body, where there is the greatest stretching of the skin as a result of the weight gain during pregnancy, but are most likely to appear on the abdomen, thighs, hips, lower back, buttocks, and breasts. While no product can guarantee to prevent the formation of stretch marks, applying Bio-Oil Skincare Oil to these areas twice a day, from the start of the first trimester until after birth will reduce the possibility of stretch marks forming by keeping the skin well-hydrated and supple at all times and maximize skin elasticity. *Bio-Oil Skincare Oil has undergone the safety assessments by the Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on Cosmetic Products. The toxicological profile, chemical structure, level of inclusion, and total level of daily exposure of each ingredient used have been assessed and deemed safe for use, including for use by pregnant women.

3. Use bio-oil to reduce pigmentation

Hormonal fluctuations, skin-lighteners, or excessive sun exposure can leave your skin with 50 shades of brown, aka dark spots or patches. This is called hyperpigmentation. By using bio-oil which contains ingredients such as Vitamin A and E it will reduce the number of damaged cells found after the skin has been exposed to UV radiation and even out your skin tone improving the appearance of the skin.

4. On the face for lines and wrinkles

At one age, the most notable change in the skin is the appearance of sagging. Hereditary and environmental factors contribute to the effects of ageing. Wrinkles, lines, and creases in the skin become more prominent. Bio-Oil Skincare Oil contains numerous ingredients that help to plasticize the skin, making it softer, smoother, and suppler, thereby improving the appearance of ageing and wrinkled skin. And YES! It’s safe to use on the delicate skin of your face because of its breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil™ which makes the formula non-greasy and sticky so that it won’t clog your pores.

5. Works for dehydrated skin

No matter how much creams, lotions, and butter you slather on your skin does it still feels like the Sahara desert? A healthy skin moisture level should be 20-30% but let’s be real most of ours are at 10%. Extreme weather and the drying effects of central heating and air conditioning can strip away skin’s natural oils making it look dull and dry, scaly, and flaky. Most dry skin remedy products existing in the market contain an in-active water content in them, we say in-active because it evaporates when applied to the skin. DSG improves on the existing dry skin technology by replacing the in-active water in these formulations with oil, resulting in a product that is 100% active in treating dry skin. Since Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel is predominately an oil, substantially less product needs to be used to cover the same body area. And that’s your cue to drink a glass of water while you’re at it!

These multi-functional skincare products are highly rated and loved by beauty professionals and celebrities like Mel B and the Kardashian family. This long-trusted blend of natural botanicals and supercharged vitamins – namely, soothing calendula and lavender alongside vitamins A and E, only makes sense to have on your bathroom shelf making it an excellent addition to your already existing skincare routine or a great place to start one.
