Our taste buds crave for that perfect chef-kiss Italian cuisine once in a while. There are multiple restaurants that serve pasta, but not all can do them amazing pasta stories!

We have put together our highly recommended collection of Pasta places, where you could taste incredibly genuine Italian pasta around Colombo!

1. Giovanni’s (Rafaela Cafe)

Located along the route of Thimbirigasyaya, Giovanni’s is a secluded Italian culinary spot. Followed with a rustic ambience of typical down-the-road Italian, the Rafaela Cafe (most famously known as Giovanni’s) welcomes you to try their Pizzas, Pastas and Anti-pasti menu.

Enjoy a range of pure Italian Pasta recipes ranging from a variety of Gnocchi, Risotto, Spaghetti, and the usual Pastas with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

2. Lago Italian Bistro

Inspired by the European boho concept, Lago Italian Bistro brings out a vibrant warmth in the heart of Colombo.

Located at the Colombo City Center Mall, the Bistro serves a mix of western cuisines, out of which they have a reputation of devouring pastas on their menu!

Their flavors are no better than adding a sustaining amount of cheese and olive oil to present a typical Italian pasta experience when you dine in at this stunning restaurant by the Beira Lake.

3. Rocco’s

Located around Colombo’s prestigious cities, Rocco’s presents a contemporary Italian dine-in spot, down Gregory’s road.

This neat space provides a comforting entrance to taste exquisite Italian food among an amazing group of people, friends and family. 

Their menu comprises fresh pastas that are originally authentic Italian, prepared on the spot. Their flavors are blended with the perfect ingredients, such as fresh basil garnished on in-house made pesto pastas.

4. The Gallery Cafe

A gothic, minimalistic inspiration of Ceylon’s finest architecture is located down Alfred House Avenue, Colombo 3.

Known as Paradise Road – Gallery Cafe, Geoffrey Bawa has incorporated the perfect space of Art and cuisine representing the European aesthetics.

Pasta been one of the norms at the restaurant, they present a preset of vibrancy, flavor, and colors that feast the eyes and worth the price of the experience you get from dining there.

5. Ristorante Via Torino

Take your lover on a  romantic date to this ideal dinner spot located down Dudley Senanayake Mawatha, Colombo 8 for an exquisite and elegant date night.

You can experience the original Italian Restaurant, embossed with a touch of colosseum ruin architecture. Their menu is sprinkled with an art of decadence, exclusively towards their pastas.

Original parm, olives, and different charcuterie of cheese is incorporated purely to enhance the restaurant’s brand theme. Their pastas are a legit romantic state of art if you dine in at this location.

6. Isso (Prawn Crazy)

As “casual” as Isso sounds, this innovative conceptual restaurant is beyond their seafood menu.

Located in multiple branches including Galle, trying out their seafood pasta should be a bomb highlight on the to-do list (if you have one for the day)!

Even though their pasta variety is limited unlike many of the Italian restaurants in Colombo, Isso is all about promoting local flavors through international cuisine such as Italian pastas incorporated with Sri Lanka’s finest seafood attributes.

7. Dolce Italia

Pay a visit down Skelton Road, Colombo 5 to experience wholesome authentic Italian cuisine, originated from their own chef’s family traditions.

Their home-made pastas are to die for with pure burst of flavors and a mini imaginary trip to the Italian cuisine coaster.
Their menu is designed to cater purely Italian food for a better in-house Italian restaurant experience.
