Playtrix, well known to be as an iconic sports bar located inside the Colombo City Centre Mall, recently celebrated its 9th anniversary with a night as astonishing as it could get. Playtrix first opened its doors in 2014 at a small and charming location within the CR&FC, and few years fast forwarded, it gained a fame of its own as the go-to place for sports enthusiasts.
Over the course of 9 years, Playtrix has solidified its position as an absolute pacesetter in the industry. Offering a vivid range of entertainment, the bar ensures that there is something exciting happening every day of the week. From live performances to fun games, music, dancing, and of course, sports viewing, Playtrix has created a unique and vibrant atmosphere for its patrons.

The bar is home for the largest permanent bar screen in Sri Lanka, measuring a staggering 18 feet. Furthermore, the establishment recently invested in a top-of-the-line laser projector, ensuring the highest quality viewing experience for its loyal audience.
To commemorate the 9-year milestone, Playtrix organized a special and a fun-filled evening to express gratitude to their loyal patrons who have supported them throughout the years. The celebration featured a stellar lineup of artists who regularly performed at the bar on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. “Kani Trio”, the hosts of the Open Mic nights on Mondays, joined forces with “Sam Day and Amani”, the performers of Acoustic Wednesdays, to form a unique and talented band named “JamRock”. Their performance was as electrifying as the lovely audience, making it a remarkable beginning to a long night that was yet to come. Rounds of complimentary glass of Champagne and Cocktails were the perfect accompaniments to sway the night away.
Following “JamRock”, the doors were opened to the public after 9pm, for an unforgettable after-party. The Friday Night Regulars and a popular act at Playtrix, “Slipping Chairs”, took the stage and entertained the crowd with their signature moves and grooves. The night was filled with hors d’oeuvres, celebrations, excitement, and a lively atmosphere, creating an epic & chic experience for all attendees.
9 years down and a forever to go, for this rocking sports bar & grill in the heart of Colombo. As Playtrix looks back on its remarkable 9-year journey, they are already eagerly anticipating their next milestone: celebrating their grand 10th anniversary the following year.
