By Sahasni Gamage

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Shiok Singaporean Restaurant, which is located at One Galle Face, and we must say that it was a memorable culinary experience. They serve the most authentic and delicious Hainanese chicken rice. They mainly serve Singaporean chicken rice which is very flavorful and unique. The menu at Shiok Singaporean Restaurant is a delightful blend of traditional Singaporean flavors with a modern twist. The extensive selection of dishes catered to both meat lovers and seafood lovers. The knowledgeable team was more than happy to assist in explaining the menu and offering recommendations based on individual preferences.

Our experience at Shiok was nothing short of exceptional. The restaurant successfully captures the essence of Singaporean cuisine, offering a delightful journey through the diverse flavors of the region. From the delicious food to the attentive service, everything was top-notch. We highly recommend Shiok Singaporean Restaurant to anyone looking to embark on a culinary adventure and savor the taste of Singapore in the heart of One Galle Face.

  • Hainanese Chicken Rice

We started our meal with the iconic Hainanese Chicken Rice, and it was an absolute delight. The chicken was tender and juicy, accompanied by fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth. The accompanying chili sauce, soy sauce and ginger paste added a perfect kick to the dish. The presentation was impeccable, with attention to detail evident in every aspect. The condiments served alongside the Hainanese Chicken Rice were equally noteworthy. The soy sauce added a sweet element, while the chili sauce provided a delightful kick of heat. The ginger paste added a zesty and aromatic component, enhancing the overall flavor profile of the dish. These condiments allowed diners to customize their experience, adding a personal touch to each bite. The clear soup served alongside the Hainanese Chicken Rice was a pleasant addition. It was light and comforting, making a nice contrast to the rich flavors of the chicken. In conclusion, the Hainanese Chicken Rice at Shiok Singaporean Restaurant is a must-try for any lover of Singaporean cuisine.

  • Soy Chicken Noodle

We also tried their Soy Chicken Noodle dish, which was delicious. The chicken, which had been marinated in a flavorful soy sauce, was incredibly tender and juicy. This culinary creation demonstrated the ideal balance of flavors and textures, leaving us completely satisfied. The attention to detail in the presentation of the Soy Chicken Noodle showcased the restaurant’s commitment to not only providing a delicious dining experience but also creating a visually captivating dish.  The Soy Chicken Noodle at Shiok Singaporean Restaurant is a must-try for anyone looking to savor authentic Singaporean flavors.

  • Chicken Laksa

We were immediately captivated by the aromatic fragrance that wafted up as the bowl of Chicken Laksa was placed in front of us. The eye-catching colors and enticing presentation made it even more appealingA bowl of soup on a table

  • Chilli Prawns

This dish was also a true showcase of Singaporean flavors, with its expertly prepared giant prawns in a tantalizing semi-thick, savory, and tangy chili-based sauce. The combination of flavors and attention to detail made it a truly enjoyable culinary experience. The presentation of the Chili Prawns was visually enticing, and the chili-based sauce had just the right amount of heat, without overpowering the delicate taste of the prawns. Each bite was juicy and tender, showcasing the quality and freshness of the seafood. The accompaniments served alongside the Chili Prawns were equally delightful.
