Colombo, Friday 5th January 2024: Thai Pongal or the harvest festival in Hindu culture is a celebration of abundance and prosperity. This year, Cinnamon Red Colombo invites guests to indulge in a special Pongal-inspired dinner buffet in celebration of the festival on 15 January 2024 from 7-10:30pm at its signature restaurant, Flavoured.
The festival that is dedicated to “Surya” or the Sun God features authentic favourites like Sweet Pongal made from rice, lentils, jaggery, and ghee, alongside other well known dishes. The extensive spread curated by Executive Chef Asela Nissanka and his team will also feature international dishes catering to the various taste buds of the guests.
Cinnamon Red Colombo’s “inspired” buffets are an experience in itself with the entire restaurant being transformed to suit the theme. Similarly, Flavoured will be adorned by traditional rangoli while staff will also be attired in colourful attire in keeping with the celebrations. Even the entertainment and music will have a South-Indian flavour for the night.
