Merry Christmas From YAMU
Merry Christmas from everyone at YAMU. This is a video of us putting up our Christmas tree, which we got at Daya Perera’s. It took like half-an-hour, so we hyperlapsed it down to a minute.

Since it’s the season to be giving, there are these people who are collecting donations to buy gifts for Jayanthi Infants Home located in Colombo 07.
The December edition of the YAMU Magazine is out now. You can download it here, or get it from any of the distribution points on the map below. This month we’ll also start distributing in Kangaroo Cabs and, as always, the mag is available in Jetwing Hotels.
With Christmas just around the corner, so many things are taking place over the weekend. Here’s just some events you can head out to if you have nothing planned or looking for things to do.
Monkey Kingdom follows a family of monkeys that travels from Polonnaruwa to the city and, as far as we can tell, back again. It looks really cool. What a nice showcase for Sri Lanka and the monkeys we often ignore or find irritating.
Killer Whales are apex predators that basically roam wherever they want to, but they’re rarely seen in Sri Lanka. However, Dolphin Beach – a resort in Kalpitiya – has reported seeing them on a whale watching run. What a treat.
These are some cool Sri Lankan tourism posters. We’d go so far as to call them modern classics. What we’re showing here are the winners of the No Bill Piece Prize, organized by the Stick No Bills shop in Galle.
Kangaroo Cabs is one of the most reliable cab companies in Colombo (for cars, not trishaws). If you call they generally remember who you are and dispatch a cab reliably. Now it’s a bit easier because they have an app (for Android and iOS).
Tis a lil sad that Poya falls on a Saturday, but stuff’s still going on in Colombo over the weekend, if you are looking for places to hang out.
