As we welcome the month of Ramadan amidst the current chaos in the island, it’s always good to know where you and your family can pop in for Iftar in case there’s a gas shortage, or a power cut (or both).
To help you out, we curated a list of 7 spots in Colombo hosting Iftar this year. There’s also a few on this list that deliver right to your doorstep, in case you are running low on fuel.
1. Chana’s
Just like every other Ramadan season, Chana’s is serving up a delicious range of samosas, kebabs and various chicken delicacies. They offer all three options of dining in, take-away or delivery.

2. Street Burger
Street Burger is doing two different combinations this year, each priced at LKR 1500. Both combos include a burger, a drink of choice, half a portion of fries, a mini toasted bun, 2 pieces of crispy ripples strips, a bottle of water and dates. You can opt for dine-in or take-away. They are also available for delivery through Uber Eats.

3. Galadari
Cafe 64 by Galadari has a mouth-watering selection of savouries on their menu that you can choose from. In addition to that, Sheherazade-Galadari’s Arabic themed restaurant, is hosting an exclusive Iftar Buffet which is priced at LKR 3550/- with taxes per person.

4. Hilton Colombo
To switch things up a bit, here’s something different from the usual. Hilton Colombo’s Graze Kitchen is featuring something unique this year with a meal consisting of a special Iftar platter followed by a multi-cuisine buffet priced at LKR 5388 nett per person. The stars of the buffet are seven distinctive and flavourful hummus dishes but it also includes various other Arabian specialties.

5. Marine Grill
Marine grill has two different buffets arranged this Ramadan season. Priced at LKR 2999 nett per person, the first is from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, the weekends and Poya days, there’s another buffet which is priced at LKR 3799 net per person.

6. Mandarina Colombo
On the eleventh by Mandarina is celebrating Iftar this year with a rooftop buffet. It has a diverse assortment of sweets and savouries included and is priced at LKR 3500 nett per person.

7. Ramada Colombo
The Gardenia Coffee Shop by Ramada Colombo is bringing a fusion of Arabic, Moghul, Lebanese and as well as many other international cuisines to you this Ramadan with their Iftar Buffet, priced at LKR 4300 per person.

8. Arabian Knights
Arabian Knights are doing their annual Iftar meal this year as well and it is available as a set menu.
Priced at LKR 2915 nett per person, their spread consists of Iftar must-haves like dates, samosas and faluda as well as some crowd favourites like falafel, shawarma and kebabs.
They offer dine-in and takeaway from their Kollupitiya branch while the outlet at Thalawathugoda has take-away and delivery options.

9. Movenpick Colombo
This one’s pricey but since it’s a five-star hotel, that really comes as no surprise.
The Ayu restaurant on the 4th floor of Movenpick Colombo has a special arrangement for Iftar (Dates, a Smoothie and a glass of fresh juice) followed by an extensive dinner buffet priced at LKR 5900 per person.
