The ideal skin care routine with Bio Oil.

By Shanali Fernando

Feeling overwhelmed, confused, and/or frustrated by the multitude of competing messages about how to best care for your skin daily? While it’s not as easy as splashing water on your face and using a drugstore moisturizer, a simple skincare routine today would ensure that you avoid premature aging and unnecessary irritation.

If you’re ready to level up your daily skincare routine, adding bio-oil can help with everything from improving acne scars to minimizing wrinkles. It’s packed with ingredients that have been proven both anecdotally and scientifically to nourish and restore the skin.

Here are 5 ways to add bio-oil into your skincare routine.

1) Cleanse

During the day, your skin goes through a lot. Dead skin cells form on the surface. Dirt, oils, and impurities collect there, too. And if you are a daily makeup wearer, it’s essential to take your makeup off as we know good things come to those who remove their makeup before bed.

Bio-Oil is safe to use on your face and around your eyes because of its natural ingredients. The oil-based formula helps to easily remove stubborn makeup while providing benefits for your skin, like helping to reduce those fine lines! Apply a few drops to a cotton pad and with a gentle swipe, it will take off any makeup easily. Just be careful not to get Bio-Oil in the eye!

2) Exfoliate

While exfoliation is not a required step in a basic skincare routine, it’s the most efficient and effective way to improve the look of the skin. When you remove dead surface skin cells, skin appears more radiant. It’s also prepped to better absorb the rest of your skincare regimen because hardened dead skin cells no longer block penetration. If your skin is sensitive and doesn’t respond well to exfoliation, consider using a toner and gently exfoliate without irritation. Use toners with nourishing and hydrating ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid and peptides also found in bio-oil.

3) Hydrate

Want to see fine lines disappear in an instant? Don’t reach for a thick, heavy cream. While this is beyond a basic skincare step, it has such instantly transformative results that you may want to consider adding one minute to your AM and PM routine and hydrate your skin. The formula contains high quantities of vitamin A (which as you beauty junkies know, is where retinol is derived from), along with vitamin E and both are known for their regenerative properties of reducing the appearance of wrinkles as well as  Hyaluronic Acid to instantly smooth, firm and plump, making those visible lines and wrinkles all but disappear!

4) Treat

This is that extra dose of TLC your skin needs to recover from a variety of reasons including hormonal changes, scarring, or sun damage from excess exposure. Studies have shown using Bio-Oil for hyperpigmentation can significantly improve skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation.

It comes back to the blend of vitamins and botanical extracts which include calendula, rosemary, and chamomile found in Bio-Oil, and their ability to replenish damaged skin cells.

5) Moisturize

Now that you’ve cleansed, exfoliated, hydrated, and treated skin, it’s time to seal in all those efficacious ingredients with the right moisturizer for your skin type or skin need. This breakthrough formula is non-comedogenic and with its gel texture, you don’t have to apply large quantities like traditional moisturizers. If applying a moisturizer, sun protection lotion, or another cream only do so once Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel has been completely absorbed into the skin.

For all-over body use, apply Bio-Oil Skincare Oil after showering or bathing.

Bio-oil can is also proven to be safe to be used throughout pregnancy. Bio-Oil Skincare Oil should be massaged in a circular motion on the face or body until fully absorbed. It is recommended that Bio-Oil Skincare Oil be applied twice daily, for a minimum of three months. Since Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel is predominately an oil, substantially less product needs to be used to cover the same body area. Apply a small amount to dry skin as required. In the case of persistent dry skin, apply daily.

Bio-oil is frequently touted as the best option to reduce all skin issues. It has a long list of skin benefits that include: improving the appearance of scars and stretch marks, uneven skin tone, wrinkles, and fine lines, as well as keeping skin supple and hydrated for healthy radiant skin, which makes it a must-have beauty product for your bathroom shelf.
