Their story
If you live in and around Mount Lavinia you would have most likely heard about or seen Arthur’s Pizzeria. Named after the owner’s pet pooch, the infamous Golden Retriever, Arthur, they are well known for their unique Sri Lankan fusion Pizzas and Cocktails. They also have restaurants in Havelock Town and Horton Place.
Arthur’s have added something new to their menu, Biriyani. We were able to sample some of it and here is what we have to say.
Chicken Biryani
Have you tried Biryani with Mozzarella Cheese? Well, if you have not, this is a must try. It came in a clay pot with a generous amount of Mozzarella cheese topping with fried onions and green chilies sprinkled on the top. Served with Basmati rice cooked just right, the chicken was well cooked and tender with spices well infused in it. It is not your traditional authentic Biryani nevertheless it reminded us of Chipotle rice (Mexican rice). We enjoyed every bit of it and we are sure you will too.
Paneer Biryani
If you are not a meat lover, we suggest you try the Arthur’s Paneer Biriyani. This too had a generous topping of Mozzarella Cheese, coupled with fried onions and green chilies. And to the meat lovers out there, you will not miss not having meat in your Biriyani. If you are on a diet or have decided to go slow on your meat intake, we suggest you give Arthur’s Paneer Biryani a try!
