Indulge your cravings at Indulge Desserts. Co.

By RR

Everyone’s favourite spot for a well-deserved chocolate overdose has opened their doors in yet another location and we were so excited to drop by and check it out.

It’s safe to say, they did not disappoint!

We walked in with high expectations and walked out with all our expectations met, high on chocolate and an epic sugar rush.

Without further ado, here’s the run-down of everything we indulged in!

Ambience

Even though it’s a small space, it does not give you the feeling of being crammed because of the light and airy interior. They were decked up for the season with a cute little Christmas tree and ornaments adorning the place. Complete with their signature murals on the wall and some real upbeat music, I’d say the whole vibe was a yes for me.

The Dome

The Dome was definitely the highlight of the day.

Priced at Rs.2500, it is enough to satisfy chocolate cravings of  a group of four or if you are a bunch of devoted chocolate fans, even two of you could finish it up. Instead of the typical ice cream and brownie domes that every cafe serves, Indulge had mixed things up a bit with some sliced fresh fruits as well within the dome. Hot nutella sauce poured over a dome of belgian chocolate to reveal ice cream, brownies, sliced grapes, bananas and strawberries. Need I say more?A definite must-try!

Ruby Indulgence

This waffle ticked all the boxes for us with the crispiness of the bubble waffle, the soft and fudgy brownie chunks, freshly sliced strawberries covered in dark chocolate, ruby chocolate sauce and finished with vanilla ice cream. The Ruby chocolate sauce gave an interesting twist in flavours with its tanginess that had the perfect balance of sweet and sour. Priced at Rs.1800/=, the portion size is also pretty generous and can easily be shared between two.

The Sriracha Wings

In addition to their extensive array of desserts, Indulge has decided to mix things up a bit with the introduction of some savoury options. They now have 3 different types of fries, savoury crepes and our personal favourite: chicken wings. We went ahead and tried the Siracha wings and absolutely loved it. For Rs.900, we had four perfectly done chicken wings covered in Sriracha sauce and garnished with spring onions.

Also,in the near future, they will be introducing a chicken wings platter with all three kinds of wings including  Peri peri, honey-glazed and sriracha, which is bound to be a winner!

Blue Lagoon

While they have a selection of hot and cold beverages to choose from, we ordered the Blue Lagoon .The freshness of the mint together with the citrusy tang of the blue curacao together with hints of orange juice packs so much punch in each sip of this drink. The perfect choice of drink to beat the lankan heat!

Also, just take a look at that beautiful deep blue colour, what’s not to like?

The Nutshell

Overall, our experience at Indulge desserts was pretty good and we’d definitely recommend dropping by with family or friends.

Also, we had a nice little chat with the owner who told us of their plans to expand and open more outlets in the near future. He also spoke of their exciting new venture that will launch shortly: gift hampers!

You will very soon be able to customise your own gift hampers or pick from pre-curated hampers and place your order from absolutely anywhere around the globe to get it delivered to your loved ones around Sri Lanka!
