Naniyori does one of the best sushi/Japanese delivery in Colombo, or around Nawala at least. They’re also the only place that does Japanese delivery, as far as we know. As part of the complex that houses Steamboat and Ace Pub, it’s also not bad for dining in.
The Food
Ordering Japanese can be confusing, but it’s a bit easier here. They have a range of bento boxes which collect popular Japanese meals at a good price. We tried the special bento (Rs. 860), pictured here. As you can see that’s a good price for a filling amount of sushi. You get sashimi, sushi, rolls and a lot of veggie sides. One stand-out from Naniyori is their soy sauce and wasabi (small amount but really hot). That plus the sushi bites are a win. This isn’t world-class sushi, but it’s really quite good and for the price it can’t be beat.
We also tried the katsu don (Rs. 700) which was solid. Breaded fried chicken, rice and veg. Basically delivered what it says on the tin.
Service
We’re not reviewing Naniyori as a dine-in option here, but they’ve got a pretty good space along with Ace Pub. Naniyori is a part of the Steamboat chain and they deliver from their location in Nawala. If you are dining in, they have a rooftop with a really nice view.
For delivery, our experiences have been great. They’re fast, they remember your name and address when you call and … well, that’s about all you could ask of delivery.
Location
Upon calling, they say that they deliver basically anywhere in Colombo, but since the outlet is in Nawala, you’re likely to get the best experience in Colombo 3-8, Nawala (obviously), Nugegoda and maybe Rajagiriya/Battaramulla. They say they deliver to Mount, but from this outlet it’s a stretch.
