Nebula Residence.

Nebula Residence is a beautiful homestay bungalow in Negombo that offers contemporary comforts to both local and foreign guests. Featuring an outdoor pool and the views of a tiny garden, this quaint bungalow is just 10-minute drive away from Negombo bus station, and 30 minutes away from BIA.

Accommodation

Nebula Residence is maintained by a local family, and they have three types of rooms – Deluxe, Triple and Family. Prices ranging from Rs. 3000 – 7000, their rooms have everything that you'd expect from a proper budget hotel room – cozy, comfortable, and spacious.

(The prices are dependent on the season timings and what room or deal you get. Therefore, check booking.com/ agoda.com for updated rates.)

We stayed in one of their Triple rooms, which is an airconditioned space with a king size bed and a single bed, a chair set, flat-screen TV, dressing table, and a wardrobe as well as a mini fridge that contained a bunch of soft drinks. Each of those drinks is priced at Rs. 100.

Aside from that, they also provide you with a kettle and glasses, if you feel like pouring yourself a nice cup of tea/coffee, just like you do at home.

Our bathroom was spotless, and well appointed with necessary amenities – toiletries, towels, and whatnot. They've managed to keep everything about this place simple and homely which adds to the charm.

If you feel like going for a swim, Nebula Residence has this cute little outdoor pool. It's about 10 meters long, well-kept and designed in a manner that anyone can have a place to stand or sit comfortably in the pool.

Nebula Residence has this podi kadey like canteen which you can grab juices, soft drinks, and snacks at any time of the day. This is where they serve all of the main meals too.

They're more than willing to give recommendations about good restaurants around, and if you're too lazy to go out for a bite, they'd happily arrange a food delivery to your doorstep.

Service

The staff manning the front desk was super helpful and friendly. You can get a bunch of tips from them on how to get the best out of Negombo and enjoy your vacation while you're here.

Rent a bicycle from them if you feel like being adventurous on your own. The beautiful seashores of Negombo are just 2-minute walk from here, and there are a ton of other interesting historical monuments, activities, shops, and restaurants nearby, that awaits for the explorer in you.

Conclusion

It's a charming, budget guest house, so you cannot expect some fancy avant-garde experience here. But we really appreciate and enjoyed its peaceful environment, the homey vibe, friendly service and most of all, the comforts it provides for a reasonable price.
