The Alliance Development Trust.

Economic growth without investment in human development is unsustainable and unethical – Amartya Sen.

The Alliance Development Trust (ADT) started its relief initiatives in the aftermath of the ethnic conflict in 1983. In 2004, when the tsunami hit Sri Lanka, ADT engaged in relief, reconstruction and development work while helping rebuild and restore the lives of those who had lost everything to the war as well as the tsunami.

Apart from relief and development work the ADT works extensively in sustainable livelihood, education, water and sanitation (WATSAN), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Leprosy, child participation and education, disaster relief and management.

Above: The ADT  has constructed 11 tube wells to improve access to clean water through their WATSAN projects.

All these projects help empower and uplift the marginalised and the rural poor all over Sri Lanka. They implement their projects through a national office situated in Colombo, with regional offices based in Jaffna, Batticaloa, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee and Vavuniya and satellite stations located in Killinochchi, Mannar, Anuradhapura, Gampola and Galle. Apart from the above projects, the ADT also helps the poorest of the poor through their Business Development Unit (BDU). It lends a hand to those who are interested in improving their living conditions.

The Alliance Development Trust is the relief and development arm of the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka. The work of the ADT runs on the giving and the generosity of the community. If you would like to donate, the details are as follows:
