The Three by TPV is a Swedish novelty store in Galle fort with some very quirky clothes, jewellery and interior decor. It’s not your average type of novelty that most tourists jump at (4 Seasons, Negombo) – the stuff here is quite apparently of high quality and they come in one-of-a-kind designs.
The Three by TPV actually includes shop, hotel and interior design, so you’ll also stumble upon The Livingroom by TPV in the fort. After some Googling we discovered that the guys behind this are also behind Vincent Shoe Store in Stockholm, Sweden, a children’s shoe store that became international and appreciated by celebrity customers like Julia Roberts, Britney Spears and P. Diddy. They now specialize in doing the interior design for the homes of the ‘Sri Lankan elite’ according to their website.
How cool is this chair that doubles as a bookshelf?The t-shirts and shawls are for around Rs. 1500, while dresses are on the pricey side at 6K upwards. We think it’s a really good place for very unique and strange jewellery pieces though (if you’re into that) in the Rs. 2000 range, and also for wonderfully trippy sculptures and paintings at Rs. 2000 and up. Our favourite were the colourful doggy portrait series by Sri Lankan artist Vikum Bandara.
It’s a cool shop to stop at and wander through if you’re in the fort and especially if you want to pick up a very memorable gift.
