Zip Sip is Favourite International's new delivery app. It delivers a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages quite reliably, in our experiences. Note that you can only use it if you're over 21 (they check ID upon delivery).
How It Works
It's surprisingly simple.
- Download the app onto your Android or Apple device
- Log in or start browsing as a guest
- Browse their selection of alcoholic drinks, add-ons, mixers, etc
- Add your selections to the cart
- Input your delivery address and favoured time of delivery
- Check out, choose whether to pay via credit card or cash on delivery
- Your order will arrive within 60 minutes, or at your stipulated delivery time.
Selection
There's no whiskey, spirits, and such. But there is a selection of red, white, rosé wines, champagne, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages like mixers, Bickford's, San Pellegrino, add-ons like ice packs and wine glasses.
The selection isn't vast – just 5 types of bubbly, around 10 reds and whites each, and no Lion or Tiger in the beer section. We did end up with some Bickford's (Rs.350) as well as a super reasonable Spanish Borsao rosé (Rs 1750). We love Bickford's for that little funky something they add to our home-made cocktails.
Delivery & Service
The app was totally seamless, there were no glitches or issues. The photos take a while to load on Android, but other than that it was really fast. Nobody called us or asked for directions, and our order was delivered within 20 minutes. The delivery guy was nice enough, and the bottles were packaged in a hipster brown paper packaging complete with twine and a twee "in vino veritas" tag.
Overall
We would have liked a larger beer selection, and perhaps some spirit options. As it stands, they've got enough variety to supply you for an improptu drinks sesh or dinner party, and the ease and quickness of the entire process was superb. There's also no delivery charge, and we didn't detect any mark up over normal supermarket prices. We'll definitely be using this app frequently in the future.
