30 Maitland Crescent, Colombo 7

Avirate is a high-end clothing store on Maitland Crescent which now has it’s own café, just next to the shop. It’s a tiny little place, but very nice and the staff are lovely. They serve food (sandwiches, short eats, etc) and coffee - and now frozen yoghurt.
You don't often come across froyo in Colombo, which is surprising because it's quite a popular dessert. There was a time when the Keells at Crescat used to sell a delicious (imported, I think) tub of the icy confection...
Anyway, the froyo at Avirate is tasty, and there’s a selection of toppings to go with it – sprinkles chocolate chips, etc. Wish they had some fresh fruit or a nice berry compote - but it’s still good.
There’s a few flavours to choose from including chocolate, strawberry, and mango - but only two are available per day.
We recommend going for the cone, which is an affordable Rs. 120. A small cup costs Rs. 280, and the price just goes up from there – how much do you really want to spend on frozen yoghurt?
So go for the cone - it’s really quite good and is the tasty way to cool down after an morning spent in a tuk tuk with traffic.
Thank you for reviewing our Froyo & for the feedback! Do drop by the café again and try out our beverage menu & let us know what you think!
How is 120 rupees for a cone "affordable"?
Dude in SL 120 is considered extremely cheap for the rich man lol even buying a bread loaf from Bread Talks is considered "hari labai"
I love the smoothies here.
Yes, 120 Rp is consider cheap…I like the design and space planning in this small cafe. Staff looks tire ?
