This place does a decentish bath packet for around Rs. 170, although the price seems to go up or down by Rs. 10 depending on the guy's mood. Samba rice, dahl, a couple of vegetable curries (gotakola, beetroot, snake-gourd, etc) and sometimes soya, wrapped up with your choice of chicken or fish. Fried chillis and papadam are also provided – but I suspect these are sometimes cooked in the same oil as the fish....and fishy papadam isn't so good. Following the general bath kade trend they're quite stingy on the dahl and overgenerous with rice, so if you do go make sure you ask for more parippu.
The rest of the menu offers the standard pillawoos fare: kottu (cheese kottu, chicken kottu, etc), rotti (chicken rotti, chocolate rotti), biriyani - and they'll toss up a speedy fried rice in one of their huge woks on request. Also available are the delightfully named honey-hoppers.
The food's not bad. Not worth venturing too far out of your way for, but if you're in the hood and hungry, have a visit. The service is fast and efficient, but don't expect too many smiles. They're not the cheeriest bunch, but that's fine.
The major downside is that the New Pillawoos is located next to a garbage collection point. A huge CMC truck is nearly always parked a couple of feet away, meaning you'll have to brave the behemoth and sidestep the stench before getting your kama. Unless you're coming in from the other side of the road.
