We've listed Silani Flora, but there are many flower shops on Dean's Road, near the ODEL roundabout. While these flower shops traditionally serve funerals (indeed, many Sri Lankan funeral homes are called florists), these are still flowers, and they're cheaper and afford you more freedom than the posher flower shops.
Seriously, Shirohana and the Bloom Room offer great arrangements, but the prices can be high, and the bouquets are often just too big. Sometimes it seems like the goal is to immobilize a girl movements by giving her so many flowers that she can't see over them.
At the florists down Dean's Road you can simply wander in, take a few orchids, some blue and yellow filler for the sides and get it all tied up in a string. The bouquet pictured about, for example, cost Rs. 500.
If your goal is to communicate how much money or status you have, this probably isn't the place, but if you're just trying to give a thoughtful gift of flowers, you can't go wrong with plucking your own bouquet down Dean's Road.
