Breakfast At Bakes By Bella.

Bakes by Bella never fails to amaze us. We've been suckers for their cakes, cake shakes and savoury goodies for many years. They've been operating at a new location with a revamped look on their menu, and this time around, we checked out the breakfast counterpart of it.

Food & Drinks

Bakes By Bella's breakfast menu takes inspiration from Western-style breakfast – both sweet and savoury.

The Classic French Toast (Rs. 1250) was absolute eye candy. I really don't know how I made up my mind to jab a knife into it because it looked that gorgeous.

Perfectly soaked in milk, the bread was soft, easily cut through, and had a slight crisp to its outside, all thanks to the right touch from the heated skillet. With a good dose of fruity kicks drawn from caramelised banana, a little bit of tartness from strawberry, and a lovely citrusy note contributed by orange, this is one of the best takes on French Toast we've seen in the city.
Featured above is the Egg Benedict (Rs. 11oo). Bella's Egg Ben comes with smoked salmon too, but we opted for the Sausage version as they had run out of the former.

The poached eggs were excellently done, had beautiful runny yolk pouring out, and the spongy mushrooms were lightly sauteed and grilled well. It's all fresh veggies and fruits here – cabbage, spinach, tomato, avocado and apple. Everything went well with the buttery, tangy Hollandaise sauce.
The Full Brekkie (Rs. 1500) is Bella's rendition of English breakfast. An assortment of two slices of toasted bread, two eggs your way (we chose the sunny side up), grilled mushroom, spinach, cherry tomato and a hashbrown, it's not your regular English breakfast, but we have no complaints.

The bread was nicely toasted, the sunny side eggs had a dusting of pepper, and the hashbrown was absolutely crispy and chunky. We enjoyed them all.
The Full Brekkie is served with a tea or coffee of your choice, and we opted for a Cappuccino. Light with a subtle coffee punch, it was all right.

Conclusion

Bakes by Bella wowed us, once again. Their breakfast spread is a reflection of the passion and efforts that they put, to whip up an exquisite meal that would awash your taste buds with flavour. If you're in the mood for a brunch sesh in the upcoming weekend (or any day), this serves as a brilliant option.
