7 Things To Do After Recovering From COVID.

If you're someone or have a loved one who has recovered from COVID-19, here are a few things to do to get back to the normal routine, one step at a time.

Take Your Time

First off, do not attempt to jump back to your old routine this instant. Take your time with the daily activities, instead of trying to do everything within a limited period of time, like you used to do. You have to keep in mind that your immune system was just attacked by a severe virus, and it can use some rest. Therefore, gradually transition into your daily routine, without overwhelming your body and mind.

Keep Practising The Hygiene Measurements

Wearing masks, keeping your hands clean, and maintaining social distance are three important habits that you cannot let go of yet. Although rare, there is a possibility of re-infection and on the other hand, you can still be a carrier of the virus which will still impact badly on the spread.

Be Alarmed

There have been certain cases where the patients reported a number of post-COVID complications. This means new, returning, or ongoing health problems that people experience 4 or more weeks after first being infected with COVID-19. In fact, these complications can imply to the people who did not show any symptoms during the time they were infected.

It's better to keep an eye out for such complications. This includes shortness of breath, fatigue, cough, chest/ stomach pain/ headache, diarrhoea, sleeping problems, joint/muscle pains, fever, dizziness, change in smell/ taste and brain fog etc. If the symptoms seem severe, call 1999; the trilingual health hotline right away.

Stay Fit

Do not jump in and do a heavy workout. Instead, start some simple exercises that you can do without any major effort, and gradually bring it up to your normal pace and schedule.

Maintain A Healthy Diet

The COVID-19 infection can stress and weaken up your body and mind. In order to recover from that, you need to put a good amount of nutrients and supplements into your body. And the best way to do it is through a well-crafted, healthy meal.

Add colourful vegetables like broccoli, beetroot, spinach, carrots and tomatoes, fruits, as well as some good proteins like boiled eggs to your meal, as they're rich sources of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. They will certainly make you feel energetic.

If you have lost your appetite due to COVID, a good meal can fix that up as well. In fact, it's recommended to try eating raw fruits in the morning and fruit juice during the evening to increase your consumption.

Drink Plenty Of Fluids

Drinking fluids helps to keep yourself hydrated. Aside from warm water, you can also opt for coconut water and fresh juices.

Get Vaccinated

Last but not least, make sure that you get vaccinated, if you haven't already. It's the most effective way to beat the pandemic and keep you and your loved ones safe. However, you should wait to get the vaccine until;

The best vaccine is the one that's available to you, so contact the MOH office in your area for details on the nearest vaccination centre.
