The Magic Million Cup 2024, hosted by RTC Nuwara Eliya, and powered by HPSL is a highlight of the horse racing calendar in the country, rivalled only by the prestigious Governor’s Cup.
The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena is expected to be the Chief Guest along with other dignitaries.
This renowned event attracts Class I Thoroughbred horses, showcasing top-tier talent and fierce competition over a challenging 1800-meter distance.

The atmosphere at The Magic Million is electric, filled with excitement and anticipation as participants compete for victory on the track. The competition is intense, with jockeys, trainers, and owners leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success.
The Magic Million Cup 2024 will feature thrilling displays of speed, endurance, and strategy, highlighting the finest talents in horse racing. The event attracts a star-studded lineup of competitors, including Class I Thoroughbred horses and acclaimed jockeys known for their talent and expertise. From seasoned champions to emerging contenders, each participant showcases their skills, contributing to the excitement and drama of the races. In addition Magic Million Race Day has also been declared as “Ladies Day” where ladies are encourage to attend the races dressed in their finery. Several mini competitions such as Most Creative Hat, Best Dressed Lady, Stylish Couple and Most Active Social Media Post will also be held.
The Magic Million Race Day will take place on Sunday 24th April 2024 at the RTC Nuwara Eliya.
