Better Butter Bakery
Kickstart this weekend with a sweet note by ordering these amazing brownies by Better Butter Bakery. Their Made In Heaven brownies are basically chunks of dark chocolate, embedded with nuts and drizzled with Nutella, and has that optimal inner gooeyness. They do some solid Tres leches too, along with an interesting range of the beloved local dessert – Chocolate Biscuit Pudding.
Kopi Kade
Kopi Kade has been the best pick for kopi in town for years now. They've introduced a bunch of new stuff to the menu, and we were super glad to try them out. With Homemade Sausage rolls, some excellent Toasties, Savoury French Toast and luxurious desserts, you're guaranteed to have a good meal at Kopi Kade.
Nature's Corner Cafe
Nature's Corner in Thalawatugoda is a marketplace for healthy, organic goods, and now they have a cafe too. We quite enjoyed this Stuffed French Toast made with kurakkan bread. Featuring a layer of organic peanut butter in between, it has homemade granola scattered about, and a drizzle of organic chocolate sauce. So good!
Bibo's Cafe (The Grove)
Bibo's Cafe, the latest addition to The Grove in Nugegoda, is a good spot to grab some breakfast if you're in the area. With a menu that revolves around waffles, both sweet and savoury, they also do a fantastic Passion fruit Mousse that one should not miss.
Kürtosh (Nugegoda)
A new venture by Klassy, Kürtosh is a reliable option to grab some good short eats. We liked their Fish Roll – a super crispy roll filled to the brim with a well-seasoned mixture that features actual bits of Mackeral, mashed up potato, and onions. At just Rs. 90, their Egg Bacon Pastry is not too shabby either.
