Indian Affair.

Indian Affair is a ghost kitchen that whips up some exquisite Indian fare. Their sole purpose is to bring a taste of our neighbouring country, while retaining its authenticity to the core.

They have two branches – down D S Fonseka Road (off Havelock Road) in Colombo 05, and Hotel Road in Mount Lavinia (near Mount Lavinia hotel).

How To Order

Easy peasy! DM them on Instagram, or simply WhatsApp your order to 0740204160. Our order was processed quite smoothly. They're also on PickMe Food.

The Food

The menu includes a range of biriyani, veg and non-veg curries, as well as rotis.

From what we gathered, this Nizam Beef Biriyani (Rs. 1200) replicates the flavours of Charminar in Hyderabad. It was packed with succulent chunks of well-seasoned, beautifully cooked beef, hidden underneath the mass of fluffy, fragrant basmati. I don't have beef with beef, but even as someone who doesn't prefer beef, I enjoyed this biriyani wholeheartedly. It's evident that the generous use of spices has contributed a lot towards shaping up its flavours to perfection.

Boasting a fiery red hue, the Ambot Tik Chicken (Rs. 1150) satiates both Indian and Sri Lankan palates alike. Hailing all the way from Goa, this curry has a dominant tang that demands your attention, followed by an ecstatic wave of spiciness, along with a hint of cumin at the end. The rich, thick, gooey gravy had about ten sizable chunks of chicken, soaking up all that flavour. Superb stuff!

We mopped up the curry with some Garlic Naan (Rs. 500, includes 5 naans). They tasted rather ready-made, as opposed to freshly made from a tandoor. There was a whiff of garlic in them, and a slight buttery touch.

Conclusion

Indian Affair offers up some amazingly flavourful Indian treats, while keeping their authenticity in check. Needless to say, they're one of our favourite picks for Indian food in town now. Try them out!
