Got any brunch plans this weekend? If you've got none, we suggest you make one now, because the delicious treats by Tropical Yum come out only during the weekend. They have a spread of Sri Lankan and continental-style dishes that will surely make your weekend better. Their Kalupol Pork and Pol Roti Combo is simply fantastic, which you can accompany with some a nicely hot Tinkiri Tea.
Junk Yard By The Barn, is a piece of the ever so popular Barnhouse Studio. Much like Barnhouse Studio, the ambience here is quite unique. Deriving its peculiar charm from a junkyard, a whole bunch of old barrels, vehicle parts, car seats, metal sheets, and a lorry have been recycled here to complement its eccentric interior.
In terms of food, they offer a wide selection of Sri Lankan, Asian Fusion, Indian, Italian and American-style food. Our favourites were the Mutton Babath Kottu, and the Black Pork Curry with Herb Rice.
Started off as a humble home baking business, Kimbùla now has a cafe of their own that spreads the love for kimbula bunnis, and a bunch of other treats. Aside from sweet and savoury kimbulas, they also make a few health-conscious dishes. Their kimbulas are the butteriest and the softest, and we highly recommend pretty much everything they've got on the menu, both sweet and savoury.
A venture by the celebrity chef Hemalallindre Ranawake, AKA, Chef Koluu, the Food Prints By Koluu crafts up some fantastic fusion-ised delicacies. Their Ayam Sakan, the Malaysian-style Chicken is simply the best, and they also do a well-spiced up Sri Lankan-style Prawn Curry, which is a must try. You can easily order them up through PickMe Food, or drop by their commercial kitchen down Duplication Road, Bambalapitiya.
Good coffee, great food and cosy vibes - the Fuel Hub Cafe in Mount Lavinia is all about them. We found some superb Fish & Chips here, as well as a juicy, mouthful Beef Burger, which we were happy to pair up with their excellent Iced Cappuccino and Mango Smoothie. They're a bakery too, which homes a range of freshly-baked goodies, such as chocolate eclairs, cakes and cookies.
We love mojitos, and we love Coronas. So, we thought to bring the best of both worlds together with a refreshing Corona ...
