Ceylon Tea Festival - Banquet Curated by Chef Tom Aikens

Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens will cook up a banquet with wine at Mount Lavinia Hotel

Hailed as one of the most creative and talented chefs Britain has ever seen, Tom Aikens has ascended rapidly in his career, becoming the youngest chef to win two Michelin stars aged only 26 and building the expansive, international restaurant empire he operates today. Tom has trained under the ‘world’s greats’ including Pierre Koffman, Gerard Boyer and Joel Robuchon. 

In 2003 Tom Aikens Restaurant opened in Chelsea, gaining its first star in 2004 and its second in 2008. The restaurant was also awarded 8/10 in The Good Food Guide and the maximum 5 AA rosettes. Chef Tom is known for his technical mastery, taking everyday ingredients and breathing a completely unexpected life into them. The menu he has delivered for this banquet is an exquisite take on premium ingredients and the best of local vegetables to create unique plates for his Ceylon Tea Banquet brief. 

WHAT ARE THE DETAILS?

Chef Tom will be cooking his meal on the 12th of August 2017 at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.  He, along with his sous Chef, will be cooking every single course. 

Expect: 

• A cocktail and wine reception with canapés 

• 5 courses plus all wines 

• A Q&A session with the Chef, understanding how he approached his menu and what teas he utilized to bring it to life

• Cocktails after the meal
