Kala Pola 2019 is back this year too
Kala Pola 2019 - Sri Lanka’s annual open-air art fair, presented by The George Keyt Foundation and the John Keells Group, takes place on Sunday the 24th February 2019, along Ananda Coomarasawamy Mawatha, Colombo 7.
Free of charge, it opens to the public at 8.00am and continues until 9.00pm. Drawing inspiration from similar open-air Art Fairs in Europe, Sri Lanka’s ‘Kala Pola’ commenced in 1993 and has morphed into a rich cultural event over years. This year’s Kala Pola will be the 25th year of John Keells Group’s partnership of this much-awaited and not-to-be-missed event in Colombo’s annual cultural calendar.
Kala Pola is Sri Lanka’s annual open air art fair showcasing and promoting visual art. It provides opportunities for painters and sculptors to meet, network, present and market their creations to a growing and appreciative audience each year. Presented by The George Keyt Foundation in association with the John Keells Group, Kala Pola has over the past 24 years grown to become a major cultural and tourist attraction in Colombo’s annual cultural calendar.
