The U.S. Embassy is hosting American Filmmaker Brad Allgood in Sri Lanka, as part of the American Film Showcase – a U.S. State Department sponsored program that uses film as a medium to prompt social dialogs on civic issues.
Filmmaker Allgood’s movie ‘Landfill Harmonic’ is being featured through the AFS this year where he chronicles his experiences of engaging with a group of youth and children from Paraguay who came up with a creative solution to grapple with the country’s garbage crisis.
Given this is an issue that is close to home, this particularly movie was selected to be featured at the AFS in Sri Lanka and it will be screened at the Jaffna Film Festival and Colombo in the coming week.
The screening in Colombo will be at the Viharamahadevi Amphitheatre on Sunday (October 7) from 5 PM onwards. The entrance is free.
