It is with tremendous pleasure that SocialService.lk brings to you The Sinhala New Year with Visually Challanged 2017 (දෘශ්යාබාධිත සිංහල අලුත් අවුරුද්ද) for the 3rd consecutive year.
This year too we will be conductng the Awurudu Uthsawaya with special focus upon increasing awareness among the general public about a group of our society that has been isolated.
They are deprived of leading life like any other ordinary person and also deprived of opportunities and proper education. They are not even given due care by the rest of us who are blessed with what they haven't got. Ultimately the rest of the world neglects, underestimates and looks down upon such people.
But what they don't know is how capable and talented our visually impaired brothers and sisters are.
This Awurudu event is organized in order to provide an unforgettable and divergent experience to each and everyone being a who can become a part of this event. It includes the participants, members, the public and most importantly, the Visually impaired community. Their silent craving to be included in the customary awurudu games has so far gone unheard. But not with SocialService.lk. We seek to inspire and bring joy in their mundance lives.
A blind person never gets a chance for kanamutti bindeema, andayata kiri kaweema or aliyata eha thebeema. Have you ever seen a blind person experiencing them? Has anybody given that opportunity to a blind person? So let them know that we are here for them, that they are not marginalized in the society and we, SocialService.lk team was, is and will always remain their strength of pillar.
Our "Awurudu Uthsawaya 2017" will be exuberant with about 500 visually impaired people, funfilled and jaunty with several games entertaining everyone. In addition to games such as,
- Banis Kema
- Aliyata Aha thabeema
- Pol athu wiweema
- Baloon pipiraweema
- sooppuwen koththamalli beema
- Kamba Adeema
- Kiri Kaweema
- Awurudu Kumari
- Musical Show
many other games are likely to make this day a memorable one.
