DAY 01 | Arrive Colombo - On to Dambulla
Welcome to Sri Lanka - Jewel of the Indian Ocean!
On arrival in Colombo, you will be welcomed by our local representative and transferred to your hostel in Dambulla.
A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, the Dambulla cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka.
Visit the Dambulla Rock Temple (Private).
Later today, visit the Dambulla Rock Temple, a World Heritage Site built in the 1st century B.C. It is the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples and contains over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.
DAY 02 | Dambulla
Dambulla, Sri Lanka
Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Private).
This morning, visit the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress, a world heritage site built by King Kashyapa. The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the forest. Discover the world -renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya situated in a sheltered pocket of the rock and approached by a spiral stairway.
DAY 03 | Dambulla - Kandy
This morning, transfer from Dambulla to Kandy. Sri Lanka's second largest city located in the mountainous center of the island considered by some as the cultural capital of Sri Lanka.

DAY 04 | Kandy
Enjoy a city tour of Kandy (Private).
This morning enjoy a city tour of Kandy, drive around the Kandy lake built by the last Sinhala King, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and enjoy a cultural show this evening.
DAY 05 | Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
Transfer from hostel in Kandy to hostel in Nuwara Eliya, en route visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens (Private).
This morning, check-out of your hostel and transfer to Nuwara Eliya. En route visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden. This botanical garden was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers. Arrive at your hostel in Nuwara Eliya and check-in.
Nuwara-Eliya, the 'heart' of the tea country, is located at an elevation of 1980 meters in the central highlands of a tropical island and offers the best of both worlds advantages of tropical abundance and pleasant cool mountain climate.
DAY 06 | Nuwara Eliya - Colombo
Transfer from hotel in Nuwara Eliya to hotel in Colombo, en route visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (Private).
This morning, check-out of your hostel and transfer to Colombo. En route visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This Elephant Orphanage is home to about 60 elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. Arrive at your hotel.
Enjoy a city tour of Colombo (Private).
Later, enjoy a city tour of Colombo. Colombo, like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the old world charm is retained. For example, there is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest are a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, the oriental bazaar at Pettah, the Fort, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) - an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the People's Republic of China & the old parliament. Also visit Colombo Museum & the folk art centre
DAY 07 | Depart Colombo
Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
