All For Pets.

AllForPets.lk seems to be the first of its kind in Sri Lanka – an online directory of sorts, for everything pet related. Right now it works best as the Classifieds of pet adoption (mostly dogs), but they’ve also got an evolving shop for collars, pet food etc, and a blog forum for pet owners. 

The site’s front page features stock images of happy white people and their pets and a user-friendly panel for easy navigation of Classifieds, Services, Shop and Blog. 

The Classifieds section is pretty simple and we’d imagine the most used part of the site. Like the pet classifieds in the papers, there’s a list of mostly puppies and dogs up for adoption, and a few cats and birds, with phone numbers and location maps of the owners. If you’re interested in advertising a pet for adoption you can email the site owners on info@allforpets.lk.

The Services/Directory part of the site is a collection of vets, trainers, animal charities and pet shops. The lists aren’t incredibly extensive but they do cover the grounds, specially the animal hospitals. While the lists of animal charities and pet shops could use more work, the pet trainers are a welcome addition since it’s not easy to find them on other platforms.

Shop is the most exciting part of this website for obvious reasons – some of the things you can buy here are collars, medicines, toys, cleaning kits, crates/kennels and pet food, for dogs, cats, fish and birds. But right now, since the site is just getting on its feet, some of it is unavailable or ‘Coming Soon’. Still, we found collars, feeding bowls and toys in the Rs. 500 – 1000 range, and crates for about Rs. 20K upwards. 

To buy stuff you need to make an account, which is a really simple Name-Address-Email procedure. You can make your purchases through eZ Cash – so Dialog mobile customer can load cash onto their phones and spend that.

I really like the Blog section of the site which makes it more than just a place to shop. Here you can learn how to better understand and treat your pet (mostly for dog owners) and even start a discussion on the comments.

All For Pets is still pretty new and in need of work in terms of shopping options and listings, but we’re really hopeful and looking forward to see it grow since there isn’t any other platform like it for Sri Lanka’s animal lovers. Stay tuned on their Facebook page which seems pretty interactive.
