Chocolate Biscuit Pudding is everywhere. But, it's very difficult to find a good CBP amidst all this chaos. Grainy, too sweet, not enough chocolate, soggy biscuits, the list of how a CBP could go wrong is endless.
Choco in a Jar home-based CBP maker, and unlike the bigger names of the CBP industry (Kandos Bellissima), haven't been in for too long. But they're here now and that's all that really matters.
Delivery
Choco in a Jar does three kinds of CBP – Classic (Rs. 400), Baileys (Rs. 450) and Peanut Butter (Rs. 450). We decided to get them all.
You can simply call the number on top of this review, or reach out to them via their Facebook page. We decided to go along with the former and given that the delivery charge was only Rs. 200 (to Nugegoda) and the waiting time was just a couple of hours, we were pretty happy with how things turned out.
The CBP
Classic
Good God, the Classic! Not too sweet, with strong hints of chocolate running through – just enough to understand that they hadn't been stingy with it but not too much that you only taste chocolate. Creamy and silky, and I mean silky smooth, the Classic was a winner in our eyes.
The biscuit layers weren't soggy and it just felt like the perfect balance of everything.
It's almost impossible to say exactly how good this was in this but, this has got to be one of the absolute best CBP's we've ever had. Seriously, just go for it – you won't regret it!
Baileys
Coming from the same base as the Classic, the Baileys only differed because of the rich amounts of Baileys Irish Cream they had infused in it. Kicking you in just the right places, the Baileys CBP promised us Baileys and they delivered! If you're one of those people who like a bit of alcohol in your CBP, you're going to adore this one.
But, we should warn you. It's rich. So rich that it might be a tad hard to finish one on your own. That being said, we have enough faith in you to know that you got this.
Peanut Butter
Delicately packed with rich peanut butter in the mix, the Peanut Butter CBP was absolutely chocolatey, nutty and all in all fantastic, and we loved it. If you like nuts in your chocolate and you're cool with peanut butter in your CBP, you're guaranteed to love this one.
Conclusion
In conclusion, we loved it! It ticked all the right boxes in the best possible ways and we literally have nothing to say that's in any way negative. If you're looking for some solid CBP, we'd say go with this.
