The Desserts
CBP and Date Pudding are sold in 450g and 660g quantities, while the Jaggery Pudding can be ordered as Medium and Large-sized portions.
We tried three kinds – Dark Chocolate Biscuit Pudding (Rs. 650 for 450g), Coconut Biscuit Pudding (Rs. 750 for 450g) and Jaggery Pudding (Rs. 1100 for Medium).
Out of the three, this one was the most-voted – the Dark Chocolate Biscuit Pudding.
Layers and layers of milk-soaked Marie biscuit and creamy chocolate, it was quite good. However, given that it's Dark Chocolate CBP, we expected it to have a dark, bold chocolate flavour, as this one leant on the milky side. Plus, more chocolate in between the Marie would have made it perfect.
The Coconut Biscuit Pudding was interesting, and it's more of an acquired taste. If you like anything coconutty, this should be right up your alley. Marie replaced by layers of Hawaiin Cookies, and cream in between, it was garnished with scraped coconut.
The Jaggery Pudding had a very smooth texture, that it melts in your mouth. This was the sweetest out of the three. Would've been better if they can ease it up a bit.
Conclusion
While there's room for improvement, Colombo Eatery is not a bad option to get your pudding cravings satisfied, in a guilt-free way.
