Everything I earn, I spend it on food. I like eating it, looking at it, thinking about it and of course, writing about it. Here are the places you would most likely to find me at, more often than not struggling to get my hair away from the food.
This is my new second home. It's close to my place, not expensive at all and the portions are massive. It's no surprise that I spend most of my outings here. The fact that they have a nice vegetarian range is a huge bonus. My regular is a Cappuccino and Veg Fried Balls Submarine. For less than 1000 bucks you can fill your tummy with delicious food and excellent coffee. They also have an amazing Belgian Chocolate Tart which Vishvi got me addicted to. They always play great music, especially the Disney classics and the service is always friendly, quick and accommodating. I probably go there at least twice a month. At least!
This is probably on everyone's list because Giovanni's is pizza heaven! I go there at least a month and even treated my friends to it a few months ago because it was so dang good. I'm a vegetarian so very rarely that I come across a pizza that would leave me wanting more. The ambience, the service and value for money are the reasons why this is my go-to place for pizza.
I go to Tokiwa for the sole purpose of having Omurice. It was one of those dishes that I tried once and have never been able to get over. Basically, it's a chicken and mushroom fried rice with sweet and savory infused flavors covered with an omelet and topped off with a Hayashi sauce; which is a dark luscious sauce made with caramelized onions, red wine, tomatoes, and a demi-glace. It's incredible! I also like it here because you can literally spend hours getting your work done, because the place is very peaceful with comfy seatings and lots of natural light.
Dolce Italia at Skelton road is a new favorite for me. They have amazing homemade pasta with so many different types like fettuccine, tagliatelle, fusilli, lasagna, ravioli etc. along with gluten-free and wholewheat options. Apart from that, they have a separate pizza menu, all day breakfasts as well as baked goodies on display. Another plus point is, all the pasta and sauces they use are there for purchase. I never leave without trying their Cream Cannolo which is by far my favorite dessert to have. The service is professional, efficient and very hospitable. The owners are always there to check on things which is really great.
I like Sugarcube for one reason and one reason only; Blueberry Cheesecake. That heavenly, creamy, incredible cheesecake. That is not to say that Sugarcube is bad, they have some great stuff like pasta, rice and curry and also very good coffee, but cheesecake is their specialty. I'm a huge cheesecake fan and I have tried enough to say confidently that this is the best you could possibly have.
So there you go. I always love to experience new places and cuisines, but these are definitely the top picks that come to my mind if I'm going out with someone or maybe just in the mood for comfort food. If you have ever tried these places, let me know in the comments below.
