Ace Pub is a great rooftop bar located above the Steam Boat/Naniyori restaurant building in Nawala. It's got a lovely view of the city at night and they serve reasonably priced drinks, inoffensive sushi and decent Chinese..
Held aloft above the rather unpicturesque landscape of Nawala exists Ace Pub, a glass cube jutting out high over the busy Narahenpita Road with an open rooftop and a great view. The bar belongs to the Steam Boat/Naniyori chain, so you can order off either of their menus.
This is a great venue – location wise it's like Sky Lounge at the Kingsbury, but with better service and cheaper drinks. The Naniyori sushi isn't as jaw dropping as Nihonbashi, but it's decent stuff at affordable prices. We visited on a Monday so we're not sure what that bar gets like on the weekends – it's certainly not going to be as scene as Sky Lounge, but if you're in it for the view and service, this is honestly a better option.
In sum, the staff are obliging and sweet, you can order a large plate of tuna maki for just Rs. 650 and you can enjoy a really great night time view of Nawala (who'd have thought). We recommend.
