Burger Cart is one of many little burger-kades to grace the streets of Colombo, among others like Burger's Hut, Burger's King, et al
. Although their burgers aren't of the same calibre (yes, burgers have calibre) as that of Burger's King, they're still pretty tasty, cheap and ideal for the munchies.
Well, when you go out for local fast food, you're not exactly expecting much in this department are you? So it's just a little joint, with a few clunky orange chairs. You can check out the kitchen right over the glass counter. The manager was very friendly and obliging.
We got a double chicken cheese burger for Rs. 350 and a chicken wrap for Rs. 250. The burger was just two patties, mayo and we presume a slice of Happy Cow - but it was pretty big and tasted great. An ordinary burger here is just Rs. 250.
The chicken wrap tasted fresh and was full of big chicken chunks, along with veggies, mayo and all that jazz - it was a crunchy, satisfying snack. We downed it all with Keerasa drinking yoghurt for Rs. 60, which in my opinion is a healthier and tastier substitute to the soda bottles at fast food joints.
Burger Cart is a great spot to stop by when you've got the munchies, or just want to eat a lot of food, fast and for cheap. We're glad we've got another place to add to Colombo's list of tasty local burger makers.
