Eden Cafe is a (primarily) burgers and subs place. Bigger space than Dinemore, but greasy and generally unsatisfying.
Eden Cafe is a big space near Marine Drive with a big menu. Our eating experience, however, wasn't very good. We stuck to the usual burger (Rs. 295), submarine (Rs. 350) and stuffed parotha (Rs. 125) and it was all pretty mediocre. It was also food of the unhealthy sort that makes you feel unhappy in the tummy for hours afterwards.
We'll start with the location, because Eden Cafe is unnaturally huge. There is basically a coffee-shop as you enter, with couches, etc. Inside there's a restaurant that can easily seat 50, and we didn't even look upstairs. It's a huge building and when we went - at lunchtime - it was completely empty. A bit weird, actually.
It's not very thoughtfully decorated or anything, it's just big and - in our experience - largely empty.
Like the building, the menu is big and fundamentally empty. The stuffed parotha comes on a two for one deal if you want (which we didn't take). It's basically a big short eat. It was actually OK but not especially healthy or satisfying. Thick pastry, obscure filling, just meh.
The beef submarine and burger were a Dinemore imitation - meat, bread, mayonnaise - that will pass as food if you're hungry, but you can taste how over-seasoned and over-fatty it is and the sensation only gets worse as you go on. It's not happy making food. Unhealthy food is OK at times, but Eden Cafe's fare lacks the pay-off of a guilty pizza, burger or Chinese meal. It doesn't taste that good, isn't good for you, and feels that way.
The service staff are quite nice. No problems there.
We wouldn't go back. There are a lot of places trying to compete in the Dinemore mid-range medium-fast food space, and none of them are especially good. Add Eden Cafe to the list.
They do have sheesha and outdoor seating
