Klassy Pastry Shop

2B De Fonseka Road, Colombo, Sri Lanka

Klassy is a really good pastry shop - reliable for savouries and milk toffees.

So back to short eats and the Colombar obsession with assortments of fried (sometimes baked) sweet and savory snacks that serve as between-meal fuel. Klassy, on the corner of De Fonseka Road and Dickmans Road, is a Havelock Town classic. Serving up the staples of Ceylan Tapas - Patties, pan-rolls, bacon and egg pastry, seeni sambol buns, eclairs,(Rs 40-80) with iced coffee in an unpretentious location this place attracts the great, the good, the average and everyone else of Havelock Town.

In addition to its popular short-eats, Klassy is also known for its affordable range of cakes. Rs 300 for 500 grams of the ever-reliable butter cake (serve at tea time with ice cream and a bit of jam) is fully worth it. There are serviceable little puddings in cups, cups of homemade ginger beer and seasonal specialties. Its three tables also look out onto the attractive De Fonseka Road so instead of grabbing your short-eats on the go you can also sit and enoy them at leisure over a glass of iced coffee.

Try the butter cake, we've heard from a lot of people that it's great.
